Stock Photography Journey – May 2012
Another month is over so here are the May 2012 statistics. May was my strongest month yet helped by $5 downloads from Yay Micro and Veer. The cumulative sales this year to date are $110.69, half – $55.22 – from Shutterstock. The second biggest earner year to date is Dreamstime at $16.37 for image sales and additional $5 in referral income.
To summarize, I have images offered through 21 stock photography websites at this time, even though I am considering not maintaining all twenty – time will tell (links to most are offered on the right side of the page).
I have had a few wetsites with first time sales in May 2012. The twelve (12) websites with sales this month were:

The Bottom Line – Total Revenue
This includes income from image sales and any other bonuses and referral revenue. What is the bottom line for May 2012? The total comes to $45.30, the best month yet.
Number of Image Downloads
Total of 54 downloads this month – up from 44 in the previous month. This is the absolute number of downloads. One would expect this number to go up over time as more images are added to the portfolio.
Earnings from Image Sales
Total of $39.67 this month up from $15.45 in the previous month. Absolute earnings from all images available for sale. Shutterstockcontinues to be the biggest earner with Dreamstime second.
This is the total count of images available for sale. The variances in the size of the portfolio is mostly due to the speed with which various stock photography websites process uploads and how strict they are in their acceptance criteria. As you can see, I have not been very good at expanding my portfolio lately.
